Artist's Description

Travel ignites my spirit of adventure. Each new place becomes a landscape of possibilities for me to explore and enjoy.

My journey took me from Eagle River to the grandeur of Matanuska Glacier in Alaska. Embracing the leisure of the road, the two-hour drive stretched pleasantly into three. The weather was an artist's dream—sunny skies, adorned with strokes of white clouds, all at a perfect 65 degrees. At the glacier's threshold, I made my entry official, and soon after, I found myself at the glacier's edge. Traversing a glacier might seem daunting, but with the proper equipment, it's entirely doable. The hike was revealing; the sunlight, usually a friend to photographers, bleached the glacier's blues to a stark whiteness. About a mile into my trek, I encountered a crevasse—a four-foot-wide chasm plunging into the unknown. The crevasse presented a mesmerizing color transition from white to the deepest blue and into the abyss of black. Camera in hand, I captured the moment. Th...
